Sandinista regime will intensify espionage in classrooms
In La Prensa, July 21, 2025
“Revolutionary vigilance will be in every classroom,” confessed a student leader of the regime.
As part of the recommendations that the dictator Daniel Ortega made this past July 19th to maintain “revolutionary vigilance”, the institutions of the regime dedicated to youth and education will extend that measure and intensify espionage and surveillance in classrooms at every level, according to what Allison Lohlofftz said, the Vice President of the National Student Union of Nicaragua (UNEN), one of the repressive arms of the Ortega Murillo regime, in an interview which she gave to the propaganda media of the dictatorship, Channel 4.
“He (Ortega) said it: revolutionary vigilance, of course he said it, from all trenches, from every classroom. Revolutionary vigilance from every corner of your work, from every corner of your office. We are not asleep; the youth are not asleep. Here we are, every day more alert to everything,” said Lohlofftz.

Sandinista movements are for keeping watch
Lohlofftz confessed that the movements that the Ortega Murillo regime uses to influence the youth are tools for political surveillance.
“That is the reason for the movements which make up the Ministry of Youth: eight sports, cultural, environmental movements, the Federation of Secondary Students, UNEN, the Science and Technology Movement…all these movements in all the trenches of Nicaragua, with all the artists, with all the secondary students, university students, technological centers, from all those trenches,” Lohlofftz confessed.
She also stated that they will not allow another rebellion like that of April 2018, stating that to do so, they recur to “communicating” from the Network of Youth Communicators – at the service of the dictatorship – and from media like Telesur. At the same time, she swore loyalty to the dictatorship couple stating that “there is not going to be another government here that has done everything that he has done, never again.”
“They should not only take it as a confession: they should take it as an open proclamation of war against freedom. When an official of the regime states coldly that “revolutionary vigilance will be in every classroom,” she is openly admitting that Sandinism no longer has anything to offer other than fear. It is proof that the FSLN is not governing with ideas, but with informants,” said the dissident Enrique Martínez in declarations to La Prensa.
Surveillance will be redoubled
According to Martínez, this warning of Lohlofftz, based on the speech of the dictator Ortega, seeks to intensify the surveillance of students in the country.
“Surveillance is not just a strategy, it is the only way to remain standing. They know that time is running out, and that is why they are multiplying the threats, cameras, informants. They want to smother the rebellion before it becomes unstoppable,” Martínez said.
Surveillance is now a fact
Martínez stated that the preparation of “black lists” of students who think differently has been documented, hand in hand with the harassment of teachers who do not agree with the party of the dictatorship.
“These groups do not represent the youth, but they operate as organs of espionage at the service of the FSLN, with the objective of detecting and neutralizing any seed of critical thinking, through youth indoctrinated and used in their attempt to make the party look better,” said Martínez.
